Few formats make music curation last like a vinyl record. Sonho do Mato is a compilation by 11 artists that follows a day at The O MATO Experience. It opens soft and calm, wanders through downtempo onto the dancefloor and closes with jazz and library music as night turns into morning.
We led the project from curation and licensing to artwork and promotion. Childhood Intelligence co-curated the selection, Analogcut mastered the record, Record Industries pressed it, Rachel Newman drew the illustration and Off the Grid handled distribution.
For the release, we hosted “A weekend with O MATO”: three days in three places, each reflecting one part of the record’s arc. It began with a listening session at the record shop KIMCHI Records, peaked with a charity open-air party at a secret outdoor spot and ended with a Sunday beach hangout at Plötzensee.
Two euros from every record sold went to Rainforest Rescue, along with all profits from the open-air party.
