D59B is an online radio platform connecting Belgrade and Berlin. For its Berlin chapter, D59B brought that love of music into a bar with an expensive interior and carefully made cocktails. A Condesa mixer and the high-end monitoring system reflect the attention given to sound, making the bar a welcoming place to spend an evening listening and talking over drinks.
The bar drew a crowd in their late twenties, thirties and beyond, who came for quality cocktails and relaxed conversation. Our DJ residency was tailored to these guests and the mood of the room. We selected warm, relaxed and sociable music that went well with the dark wood furniture and the long, heavy curtains. From ambient to downtempo, soul, dub and understated house, each record had to sonically fit in that setting. The brief was to keep a consistent atmosphere across a broad range of genres, with music that rewarded listening and left room for conversation.
